I am selling this Raleigh Ace racing bike (10 gears) that I
bought 40 years ago. This was the first
bike I bought with my own money and I remember that it cost me £120 so I’m
going to advertise it for this price in the hope that I can recoup my pocket
money!
Size: 23 inches – This is measure of the length of the seat
tube. Ie it is a measurement taken from
the centre of the hole the crank goes through to the top of the tube into which
the seat post is inserted.
Obviously, given it’s age, it is in need of a bit of TLC and
the frame has some chips.
It is no surprise that the tyres are perished but I pumped
them up and managed to go for a cycle run!
The cables will need replaced, the left gear cable snapped
when I tried to change gears but the brakes worked.
The mudguards are corroded.
The original handlebars just had black tape wrapped around
them but I replaced this with black foam which as you can see, is worn down in
places.
