Ridley Helium special edition 2012 Size M (56cm)
Owned by me from new. Was my race bike originally but used more recently as a second/winter bike (with mudguards on).
Great world tour quality bike – weighs in around 7.3kg without pedals. Full carbon frame & forks, Utlegra chainset & derailleurs, DuraAce shifters. Currently running a mixed wheel set with a Shimano RS81 on the back & a Fulcrun Racing 7 on the front. Happy to throw in the rear Racing 7 as it has a broken spoke but could be repaired if the buyer wants the original set. Virtually brand new freehub fitted earlier this year (on the RS81) but the bearings are a little worn.
This bike has an integrated seat mast that’s cut to fit me – I’m around 182cm (6 ft) so that’s about as tall as you’d want to be on a 56cm frame. Included in the sale is the cutting jig should any buyer wish to shorten the mast at all & also a selection of shims that can be used to raise the saddle up to 20mm on top of the mast. I currently use minimum shims so that means anyone shorter than me or up to 20mm longer leg should be ok this bike.
The bike is generally in good but used condition. Usual scuffs from dropped chains & cable rub but nothing unusual. Cranks a bit scuffed from heel rub also. Shifting is mechanical but slick. Cables all ok & were last replaced approx 2 years ago. Chain replaced 2-3000 miles ago so might be due. Tyres are Conti GP 4 Seasons 25mm both less than 6 months old & plenty of wear left. Bar tape is fairly new & there is also a brand new Selle Royal saddle fitted. No pedals included but I can put some flat ones on for no extra cost or add used SPD-SL pedals for an extra £15 (please message if you’d like to do that).
All in all this is a solid bike – built for pave – that rides great & will do a great turn for someone with just a little freshening up.
