BMC RM01 Race Machine – 55cm (same as other brands 56cm) – lots of upgraded parts. In great condition.
Bought this bike when it was priced at £3500 back in 2013 – ridden and cared for it for thousands of miles and it’s still running like a dream. Planned to keep it around as a second bike, but finances mean it’s gotta go make someone else happy.
All cleaned and set up, will be shipped in a suitable bike box with ParcelForce Large delivery – included a screenshot of the cost of that so it’s clear I’m not trying to rip anyone off at £40 delivery cost.
Size is listed as 56 as that’s the closest equivalent to BMC’s sizing at the time – they were attempting to get people to buy based on reach and stack rather than frame size, it just caused confusion in my opinion. The top tube is 56cm. I’m just over 6 foot and it fits great with a typical racing position.
Upgrades to the bike include:
120mm Thomson X2 Road Stem
3T Team Full Carbon bars (45cm)
JAGWIRE cables (currently running internally through the handlebars – looks nice but does add some shifting resistance. For best results it could be worth redoing, but it works well as is)
Swiss Stop Blue brake pads – great stopping in wet weather
Vittoria Corsa 25mm tyres (just awesome tyres- these ones are getting towards the end of their life, but still riding beautifully
K Edge Chain Catcher
All in as sold the bike weighs in at 7.5kg
Otherwise everything is full Ultegra 10 speed with a KMC chain. Fizik Antares Saddle, DT Swiss wheels that are fairly standard but nice riding.
I can throw in some Ultegra Clipless Pedals and shimano yellow cleats if the buyer would like.
Condition is great considering the age and mileage – I’ve included photos of a few bits of wear and chips in the paintwork – all at surface level.
I’ll be sad to see it go, but hopefully someone will Grab this awesome bike and ride it for years to come.
