Introduction
This bike comes with a frame and fork in C7 FullCarbon with tapered steerer, Shimano Tiagra gearset, Tektro R540 Dual Pivot Calliper Brakes, and Mavic Wheelset. The native saddle on this bike, which was not comfortable IMHO, has been upgraded to the Gel Flow model from Selle Italia (RRP £80+), while the pedals areShimano Road (cleats). I’ll also throw in my Kryptonite D-lock (pictured). Please read the whole description.
Size and Feel
Regarding size, I am a 5’9” woman and the frame feels like a medium fit for me. My partner is 6’1” and he says the frame is slightly too small for him. So, if you’re in the region of 5’6” to 5’10” – depending on your preference for frame size – then you’re in the right place. I inverted the handlebars so they sit slightly higher, so if you’re a bit shorter or prefer to be more forward, you could switch them back. This model is a very comfortable ride with good power transfer and quick handling without being twitchy.
History
This bike is in an excellent used condition. It has been owned by me for 1.5 years with no mechanical issues in its structure or functionality. I purchased the bike from a local family; it had been bought as a present but then stayed in storage. The bike has always been stored inside. The carbon is in good condition, the wheels run true, the gears shift perfectly, there is lots of life in the brake pads, the frame has been hosed down, and the chain has been degreased.
There are some signs of wear and tear: superficial oxidation on alloy components, minimal paint scratches, bar gears scuffed (from turning it upside down for cleaning / punctures). Most importantly, there is a tyre bulge in the front tyre (pictured). So, when you do your safety check or professional fitting, which I would do anywayf or peace of mind and ergonomics, you’ll want to partially deflate the front tyre and slide it back into place. Lastly, if you’re bike-proud, you may wish to change the handlebar tape. I’m not fussed; personally, I think it looks less nick-able!
Side note: for your first safety check / fitting, I recommend Cranks DIY Bicycle Workshop, BN21QR. They’re a not-for-profit community bike shop. The two guys there really know their stuff and formerly owned a commercial bike shop. They will go through a 1-hour bike repair for a recommended donation of £20, can you believe! Spare parts are added on just at wholesale price. They’ll also talk you through the process, if like me you didn’t have much prior knowledge, so it’s completely transparent.
Quality
As you probably know, Boardman is a trusted and reliable brand. Although I initially bought this bike as my first road bike to build confidence. I would happily hold onto it if I wasn’t moving to the Netherlands, where my work has a decent bike scheme. I’ve used her for getting around town but also for longer half-day rides. You won’t be going for top racing times at the velodrome for a bike at this spec but you’ll be able to sprint like mad, pump those legs, and get excellent power transfer around the South Downs.

Note that it’s collection only from Hove BN3 before or on 17 August at the latest, preferably sooner. I’m currently working from home so I can be flexible about the collection time.
