Rare Cannondale CAD2 SAECO JUNIOR road bike in very good condition for yearCannondale USA-made CAD2 aluminium frame and fork in Team Saeco (Mario Cipollini) colours. 42cm centre-to-top, approx 48cm effective-top-tube.650c/26in wheels with Cannondale hubs, Rubino tyres, and spare inner tubes.Original Shimano 9sp drivetrain: 105 triple chainset (165mm cranks), Ultegra cassette, Ultegra rear mech, 105 front mech.Cannondale brand brakes, saddle, stem. Shimano Tiagra 9sp triple shifters. 3TTT handlebars, Tange headset.Spare cranks – Stronglight Junior 155mm (34/42)Dates from 1999/2000. I am the second owner (bought for my son). The original owner’s son used it in the noughties and it was well taken care of. He supplied it with a spare chainset (Stronglight Junior) suitable for shorter legs, as well as the original Shimano 105 Hollowtech unit. I had the latter re-installed as my son’s legs grew. I estimate it would fit most 8-12 year olds but please see measurements above.Always stored indoors. Cosmetically it’s really good for the year, but some wear due to use – there are minor scratches and marks to the seatpost, and the forks, saddle and rear mech where it’s been leant against walls, and some decals have worn but the colour is beautiful (pls see pics).The original Ultegra shifters became unreliable several years ago and I replaced myself with second-hand Tiagra units shortly before he grew out of it – one of these shifters occasionally slipped but it didn’t pose a problem, and they’re cheap to replace. Apart from these and the tyres it’s all original. It hasn’t been used in a few years so I recommend a service. Questions and viewing welcome, but no silly offers please.
