The low-maintenance exclusive hydraulic brake system from Magura is aerodynamically superior and lighter than mechanical brakes, and yet stops on a dime. Designed for speed and versatility, this bike features a variety of custom and intuitive storage solutions combining optimal aero locations with ease of access.
Individual Aerozone™ skin surfaces on the frame are tuned to optimise airflow conditions, resulting in crucial time savings of ~30 seconds in a 40-kilometre race whilst ComfortPly™ removes unnecessary material to reduce vibration and improve ride quality, critical for fresh legs on the run or to aid recovery after a hard training session or TT race.
An extended Seat Tube Cutout in the form of a close-fitting curve in the seat tube trailing edge shields the leading edge and top of the rear wheel significantly improving aerodynamics. Aero Cable Managements ensures cables enter the frame at strategic points to reduce aerodynamic drag. Cervélo engineers have designed cable paths through the frame that also reduce mechanical drag.
Another top feature is the reduced friction bottom bracket cable guide crucial to proper shifting a small detail that can have a huge impact on performance. The Cervélo Reduced-Friction BB Guide maintains a consistent curve for each cable path that avoids side bends or kinks. The result is significantly reduced friction, leading to easier setup, smoother shifting, and longer service intervals.
Storage and hydration solutions on the P5 been designed for speed and versatility whilst still being sleek and intuitive to use, and are positioned to reduce drag. Hydration has also been accommodated for with a horizontal standard two-bolt bottle cage precisely positioned between the arms on the aerobar by far the most aero position.
