This is a well-loved bike that has been regularly
serviced and cleaned after every ride 🙂 The bike has a couple of small
signs of wear and tear and cable rub but overall it’s in great condition.
With more performance than just about anybody who
doesn?t make a living riding a bike needs, the R3 is an elite-level ride that
comes at a real-world price. Originally bought for £3899 this high performance
bike has been priced for a quick sale and can be yours, including an upgraded wheelset , for a bargain. Reviewed at
5 star by all the trade press the Cervelo quality shines through and as well as
being a climbing machine the R3 is equally comfortable racing, riding sportives
or simply just riding.
THE FRAME
The R3, comes from
Cervelo’s third generation of Squoval tube shaping, which utilizes a truncated
airfoil variant. This shaping provides aerodynamic benefits without any
reduction in stiffness or addition of weight. Even with its excellent aerodynamics,
the aero performance the R3 still retains maximum stiffness, power transfer and
low weight
Cervelo’s
Future-Proof Cable Management means the routing of brake cables and Di2 leads is
highly customisable, is internally very clean and externally very attractive.
The system uses a collection of standardized fitting so should you wish to switch
mechanical/electronic group sets and/or brands the Future-Proof fittings
accommodate any of these choices easily. That said, Di2 is excellent and makes shifting
a smooth, quiet thing of beauty. The battery is internal and charged from the
Di2 unit underneath the handlebars
THE RIDE
The ride quality is
excellent and provides an efficient, connected feel-from the front end to the
bottom bracket and back to the rear wheel. Quick accelerations, like sprinting
up a short climb or jumping hard out of a corner, are inspiring on the R3 due
to the instant feedback you get in speed.
