Lightweight featuring a frameset that hits the scales at less than 1000 grams, the new frameset is 24% stiffer at the headtube than it’s predecessor. This produces a better handling and more direct frameset, yet does not compromise comfort.
Comfort has further been improved using ComfortPly Technology that uses specific carbon layering to produce a smoother ride, especially over rough terrain.
Squoval main tubes are a Cervelo trademark and combine immense strength with race ready stiffness. Redeveloped Squoval 3 tubing reduces air drag, a 7-watt improvement compared to the previous R3. These large tubes mean the seatstays can be made thinner and weight can be reduced.
The head tube has been tapered as well as increased in size and reduced in length. All this equates to high levels of stiffness and improved handling, with no added weight penalty.
Designed with riding and racing over rough roads in mind, Cervelo have catered for this with clearance, if needed, for 28c tyres.
Cervelo are always ready for whatever technological innovation comes next so interchangeable ICS (internal cable stops) have been added to give the option of fitting either an electronic groupset and even hydraulic braking systems, in the future.
