Claud Butler / Percy Stallard 1950’s Road racing cycle. Condition is Used.I removed this bike from the listing as it attracted loads of some of which suggested the bike was not a Stallard as first thought but a 1950’s Claud Butler, the head badge is Claud Butler shape and i have been informed the stampings under the bottom bracket are accurate for a 1950 Butler. The rear drop out marking i thought was C8 is most likely CB. The hubs i have received most advise about informing me they are Harden on Dunlop rims. Sorry if anyone feels mislead.Below is the original listing which with the addition of Harden and Claud ButlerThis is my neighbours old bike iam selling as he is in care. The bike has been attached to a trax trainer in the house for the past 20 yrs, he bought from Stallards shop in Broad Lane Wolverhampton. He worked abroad for most of his life which is why the bike was filthy when i found it with perished tyre but fully working. He remembers buying the bike from a keen cyclist who emigrated to America and having it resprayed by somebody from the pub. i have cleaned the bike and had it looked at by Freds cycles who confirmed its in good nick for its age.The frame as been resprayed Black with gold detailing. I have attempted to add providence to the bike which as proved difficult without removing paintwork and not all parts are original. i have cleaned the paint from the head badge which is clear of detail.i Have fitted new Schwalbe Active tyres, tubes and Saddle(not include) and took it for a ride. i can confirm it is in working order.Research www.classiclightweights.co.ukFrame: Steel with Osgear egg lugs.
