This listing is a Claud Butler Road Bike with Reynolds 531 tubing. From the centre of the bottom bracket to where the seat post hole is, I measure 21 inches.
I think it may originally have been a cyclo-cross bike due to the brake bosses and brakes but can’t be certain.
I’d estimate that this bike is 20-30 years old and as such is offered in reasonable vintage condition. I bought it earlier this year to commute to work but a change of circumstances means Ive never used it.
The frame is in good overall condition with a few scrapes and scratches commensurate with the age, particularly on the rear stays through chain scrape and there’s a small dent on the top tube (see finger photo). I asked at the bike shop and they said there was no way of fixing it but that it didn’t affect the structural integrity etc.
I have had the wheels professionally trued by Geoff Smith Cycles Bolton and it hasn’t been ridden since. I’ve also put all new cables on, however I was a bit over enthusiastic about the front brake, so this will need sorting prior to riding, but they’re only a few quid from Halfords.
The bike comes with shimano spd pedals, however a previous owner has cross threaded one. With two of us trying we couldn’t remove it so I don’t think it’s dangerous but it is at a very slight angle, please see photo.
Bike is strictly COLLECTION ONLY – NO COURIERS.
Please don’t bid if you can’t collect in person from central Bolton, Greater Manchester.
