Racing 1 wheels have competition in their DNA. If you’re looking for a lightweight wheel that gives the best performance under any condition and has a marvellously aggressive look, you’ve found it. The aluminium rims have a differentiated profile front and rear. The front wheel height is 26 mm to achieve perfect aerodynamic penetration, while the rear increases to 30 mm to provide all the stiffness necessary to transmit every watt of your power. Both rims feature the characteristic Fulcrum toroidal milling between the anchoring points of the spokes. The spokes are in aluminium with aero profile and a central section of 2.6 mm, 16 radial for the front wheel and 21 for the rear wheel distributed according to the famous Fulcrum 2:1 spoking, with double the number of spokes on the cassette side. The nipples are in aluminium, too, which reduces the important peripheral mass of the wheel, thereby increasing its performance in acceleration. The hub smoothness is guaranteed by special bearings designed and produced by Fulcrum that have many more balls than normal industrial bearings and hence produce unparalleled smoothness. Racing 1 wheels were born to be fast, so Fulcrum has equipped them with the patented Dynamic BalanceTM system that makes them stable and precise even at high speed.The Racing 1’s feature distinctive bladed aluminium spokes. They’re 2.6mm at their widest point and there’s 16 of them in the front wheel and 21 in the rear. Here in the rear wheel is Fulcrum’s 2:1 lacing pattern, which basically boils down to there being twice the number of spokes on the drive side. They’re two-cross laced here and straight pull everywhere else.Aluminium nipples hold the spokes onto the aluminium rims, with a 26mm depth section on the front and a deeper profile, 30mm, for the rear rim. Toroidal milling between the anchoring points of the spokes reduces weight. There are no spokes holes on the inside of the rims so rim tape isn’t needed, and this helps increase the stiffness a little.When out of the saddle sprinting for pretend finish lines (as you do) the wheels are noticeably stiffer than other wheelsets I’ve been riding recently. The feeling is one of a taut wheelset, they’re very snappy, especially when flicking the bike around the road, left and right, darting through corners with the stiffness of the wheels lending a thoroughly positive feeling when cornering at race speeds.THE F75 FRAME & FORKS…Blending butted and shaped Superlite aluminium tubing along with the signature handling of the F design into a package that gives the same responsive feel of Felt’s most advanced models while using a carbon fibre in certain areas for added comfort.
