Here we have a great example of the Giant Defy1. Just google “Giant Defy” to see they are legendary in the world of entry-level road bikes. They regularly win “bike of the year” and have the frame geometry perfect for long days in the saddle or putting the power down in a sprint. The bike is light, fast and ready to hit the climbs. This is the Defy 1, which means it sits at the top of the tree in terms of specification (and price!).
This model benefits from the Shimano 105 Rear Derailleur and matching 10 speed shifters. The difference in quality compared to the Sora/Tiagra range is clear to see once you’ve taken it for a spin. It also has upgraded DT Swiss Wheels and a Carbon Fibre seatpost, which is amazing at soaking up vibrations from the road. Add to that the upgraded Selle Italia Saddle and this bike is really comfortable for a racing bike.
I’ve just serviced the bike and installed fresh Deda Elementi Bar Tape. The gears have been indexed so shifting is quick and precise. The brake pads have plenty of rubber left so this bike is ready to hit the road this weekend.
In terms of condition I would say it is excellent. The previous owner has really cared for it and with the exception of one small chip on the top tube the paintwork is really bright and looks great.
