Giant OCR3 Frameset Compact Road Racing Bike.
Condition has to be described as Used but it is in immaculate condition.
Bought for my wife, but she doesn’t like the thinner tyres so I have bought her a cyclocross frameset and transferred the kit onto that.
The lack of use has kept it in fantastic condition and it deserves to be ridden rather than left hanging on my garage wall.
The frameset comprises 6061 series aluminium tubing with butted weld without any smoothing of the joins.
The forks are carbon with an aluminium steerer
It’s a medium frame geometry but not sure what size that is. A quick look on the Giant website suggests riders from 5ft 8in to 5ft 11in. It weighs in at 2100g for the frame, forks, headseat and bearings. When built up this bike was a shade under 8.8kg!
The paint is a smart combination of black and and silver – two of the fasted colours known to man – which, when combined, create an even quicker bike!
The frameset is in excellent condition, with no dents and/or dings. The paint is in extremely good condition, with little or no signs of cable rub. I’ve tried to photograph these, but the blemishes are so small they don’t show. There is one small stone chip to the underside of the downtube (about an inch up from the label (see photo). I think a Muc-Off treatment or Tee-Cut would get the frame back to showroom condition.
All threads are in good condition with no signs of cross threads. I’ve also done a test fit of a rear mech and bottom bracket and they accepted the components.
Note there is a reducer fitted within the seat tube to accommodate a carbon seat post (see photo).
I haven’t inspected the headset and bearings. Whilst they feel ok, I think the bearing may need replacing sooner rather than later.
