The Giant TCR was a revolutionary piece of bike frame design in that it was the first to pioneer the use of compact geometry in the mass market. ‘Once’ upon a time, back in the late 1990s this frame design, featuring a sloping top tube and shortened seat tube offered many improvements in material terms. The aluminium and later carbon frames built with this geometry were stiffer and lighter and Mike Burrows was credited with a design that is still at the forefront 25 years later. This example built from aluminium is in excellent condition. It has a nice Campagnolo Centaur 10 Speed group with the rather rare Campagnolo flat bar brake levers. The groupset is in fine fettle and works very well shifting through gears nicely. The paintwork is striking and in excellent condition with only the odd minor marks or imperfection. Finally the rims are blue anodised Mavic Cosmic’s that suit the frame perfectly and spin straight and true. Overall this is a very tidy road bike, one that belies it nearly 20 years and if you take it for a spin you’ll be impressed.
