Here for sale is my beautiful top-of-the-range Wilier Cento1. This was the final, perfected evolution of the original Cento1 design, in a special 2-tone matt black & carbon colour scheme, with visible Wilier crest logos embedded in the actual carbon fibre that show up like a hologram when light passes over the frame’s surface. This beautiful and unique finish is pure class and looks absolutely stunning in sunlight, the pictures do not do it justice.

The bike has hardly been ridden, hence a reluctant sale. It’s still in its original guise as purchased new from official Wilier dealers Bikesportworld in Germany (I do have upgrades/options for stem, bars, saddle & wheels). The equivalent new today would cost well over £5000.

Drivetrain is the lightest groupset ever made – the original SRAM Red Double Tap 10 speed, all as per new. Even the original chain has no measurable wear – that gives you an idea of how little use it’s had.

Note that this is the original mechanical SRAM Red group set which is much lighter & more reliable than the electronic eTap. It also means that the only thing on the bike that you need to make sure stays charged up is the rider! I’ve ridden electronic shifting gears and all I’ll say is I preferred the feel and convenience of mechanical gears and there’s nothing more annoying than running out of battery on a ride and turning your £6000 bike into a singlespeed… aside from that, the satisfying mechanical clicks and clacks of the original SRAM Red are like changing gear in a proper manual sports car, whereas eTap/Di2 is like an electronically controlled automatic that makes the same noises as a robot’s limbs. And you’ll never need to plug this one in…

Condition is great, 9.5 out of 10, it’s hardly been ridden and has been impeccably kept. It has always been stored inside the house. It is spotlessly clean and fastidiously lubricated.

This bike is an all time classic with it’s World Championship winning heritage, distinctive design features, beautiful shape and finish. Plus it is simply one of the best riding bikes ever made – it just does everything well, and strikes the perfect balance between speed and comfort. My previous bike was a Specialized Roubaix Pro and this is even more comfortable despite being a more race oriented design. It feels like there is almost a suspension damping action from the rear swing arm design, it’s that comfortable over imperfect roads, thus glides along translating to more speed and fluid motion.

Geometry is race-sportive: it’s built for all day stage & classics racing and was a proven World Championship winning, Pro Tour team-issue bike, but it has a clearly higher and shorter position for more comfort than any other Pro Tour race bike.

The effective top tube measurement is 57cm. The head tube is relatively long at 194mm, plus there’s spacers under the stem for quite an upright position option which suited me perfectly. If you want a lower position for outright racing you can lower the stem, but I’ve always welcomed the extra height up front.

The fork steerer is nice and long at 280mm. This allows 30mm of spacers stacked under the stem for an upright position, with plenty of scope to lower the stem if required. Most used bikes will usually have the fork steerer cut down too short to yield a comfortable handlebar height, but this fork still has the full range of adjustment.

The integrated seat post (ISP) measures 71cm from BB centre to top.

With the Ritchey WCS topper set at its lowest height, the BB centre to saddle rails measurement is 72.5cm.

At the lowest setting it gives me my required measurement of 78.5cm from saddle top to BB centre. The saddle can be raised/fine tuned up to another 2cm if required.

I’m 6’1” with approx 32” inside leg. The rider height guide range for this size XL/57cm frameset is 5’10” to 6’2”.

As stated, the Ritchey WCS seat post topper can go up another 2cm if you need a higher saddle position than me. There are also longer toppers available that give even more height if needed (Both Ritchey and KCNC do an extra long version in the correct 34.9/35mm fitting).

If you are smaller you can of course have the ISP mast cut down to your required measurement by any reputable bike shop. I am happy to do this for you also.

You can also just run a “normal” seatpost by having the ISP cut down to a few cm above the top tube (like a seat tube on a traditional frame) and fit a regular 34.9mm seat clamp collar and run a regular 31.6mm seatpost. Wilier designed the Cento1 ISP with a 34.9mm outer diameter and a 31.6mm inner diameter to make this a ready-made option for those who prefer to run a traditional seatpost set up. Genius!

This listing is for the complete bike without pedals. I’m open to a best offer and I’m willing to adjust the spec if there’s parts you don’t want/need or even sell the frameset if you have your own build in mind.
