The bike is fitted with SKS Raceblade Long Front and Rear Mud Guards with proper mudguard stays. These mudguards have unique Quick Release Mechanisms which makes them detachable for summer or winter use
Double Wall A-350 700c wheels have front QR Skewer and Conventional Rear Axle
New 700 x 25c Vittoria Zaffiro with a 25-622 5-7 bar pressure rating
Complete with Front Rear and Wheel Safety Reflectors, Bottle Cage, Flat Pedals and Pinger Bell
This hike was originally bought to do the Paris Brest Charity Ride and has done very little work besides. It’s been well maintained at Halfords when in use and dry stored when not in use
The original tyres confirm the limited use and although they have recently been replaced with slightly larger tyres for better comfort they are still available if required
The overall conditions is excellent with only minor marks/chips and a nick in the seat mainly caused whist in storage
Although this bike is a built as race bike it has full mudguard and lower rack eyelets in the frame to enable connection of full mudguards and touring/commuting rack
The bike rides very well it’s smooth on the road as can be expected from steel framed bikes, the 14 gears with the twin chain ring and 28/14 offer a decent ratio for most conditions. The padded handle bars and seat together with the slightly wider tyres make it a very comfortable ride too. The bike has excellent tyre clearance for those wishing to use bigger road or more adventurous riders looking to use heavily treaded gravel tyres even with the mudguards in place larger tyres can easily be accommodated
This bike offers a great overall package for a wide range of people: wether it be for road race entry, charity rides, long distance road Audax or touring. Gravel paths or indeed for local commuting. It has strength and depth features which provide a wide appeal amongst cyclists. Most importantly it’s a well made strong bike with decent components which will provide a great ride and longevity on a very appealing budget.
