I was lucky enough to buy this direct from Raleigh's GAC race team after photographing the team for one of their sponsors in 2017. It was one of their spare bikes and saw very little use.
It is very fast and feels incredible to ride. It even made me look half-decent – which i'm not! As I do not own a pair of athlete's thighs, it's now running an 11-28 rear cassette. This makes hills a little more doable!
It is also fitted with American Classic wheels – making punctures less of a nightmare compared to the stock clinchers.
Weighing-in at a little over 7kg with a carbon frame and the latest SRAM Red gears and brakes this bike would have probably retailed at £6000 – if it was available to buy back in 2016. It is a 55cm frame. I am 5’10” and it fits me perfectly. I've only ridden it a couple of dozen times – summer use only – and never very far.
It has a few minor scratches on the paint and shifters – more photos available. It's not been crashed and the fame is not cracked. It can come with both original black and white bottle cages – I took them off for the photos. I’m also happy to leave the pedals on.
It wants for nothing – other than perhaps a younger rider – and can be ridden away or cherished as part of collection.
Final two photos show former Raleigh GAC rider and hill climb champion Adam Kenway on identical, but not actual bike.
