A child’s Raleigh Pacer drop handlebar road bike. 20″ wheels, 5 speed derailleur gears. Looks late 70’s or early 80’s to me. Recent new bar tape. Extra brake levers on the straight bits of the handlebars.
I bought this bike a couple of years ago so my little one could get a feel for proper road biking. I found it hard to find a small but light enough bike to get a child started on proper road biking. Suitable for 7 or 8 year old upwards I reckon. We got lots of smiles and thumbs up when we were out and about on it. It has a fair few age related marks on it but still nice shiny red paint. The back wheel is slightly loose on the hub and when I tighten it up the frame seems to tighten to the wheel so tight it stops the wheel from turning so we just use it as is and works fine. Not sure what I am not doing right with it.
Good little bit of retro fun biking. Collection from Ilkley LS29 or LS1 next to Leeds LGI by arrangement. Try anyvan.com for transport further afield.
