Raleigh Steel Road Bike 853 Special Products Racing Campagnolo READ DESCRIPTION. Condition is Used. Collection in person only.
I’m selling my bike. It was built for my father in the 90’s (or maybe early 2000’s I’m not sure) from new parts. It’s green, 853 tubing, nice condition although obvious signs of its age, however, it has always been looked after, stored inside, cleaned and maintained. The chain and the bottom bracket are new, and the rest of it I’ve shined up as best as it’ll go. The headset has been re-greased etc. The wheels are NOT INCLUDED as they have bulges which is a common problem in carbon wheels of this type. The bike is not finished as the gear cables and frame cable routing bits are missing. The quill stem was a bit floppy so I’ve shimmed it using a tin of beans (with mixed success – the thread might be damaged as well) and the rear brake sticks, so these will need looking at. Also the brake pads are zipp carbon specific ones which I’m not sure are the right size because I had to use insulation tape to wedge them in the blocks. Cosmetically, theres a few scrapes and things, and some of the transfer on the other side is missing. Otherwise it’s a great bike, ridden over the years by my dad, my brother, and I. Selling due to it being simply too big (I’m 180 cm). I have been using it to commute around Leeds but I feel like it needs a new home, just requires a smidge of work (and some wheels remember). Campagnolo 8 speed mixed group set: Athena rear DR, shifters, and brake calipers, and Chorus crankset and front DR, although, the chain rings appear to be made in France. Selle Italia saddle.
