Vintage very rare 1970’s Raleigh Record Racer in need of restoration.
The frame measures 25 inches from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube.
So this old boy is a 1970’s Raleigh Record, produced under licence by the Dutch bicycle manufacturer Gazelle and then sold to the American market. It now finds itself in the UK looking for a new owner.
Yellow wasn’t a colour of choice for the UK market at that time. Neither were the Simplex gears that were a lot fancier than the Sachs Huret gears UK Raleigh’s had during the 70’s and 80’s.
Ideally a complete strip down and rebuild is needed for this fella. Both wheels are buckled beyond repair so new rims would also be needed. Plus tyres, cables etc.
