Here we have an excellent example of the Scott CR1 20 Road bike. The matte Black with red accents makes it a seriously good-looking steed. The whole bike weighs a shade over 8kg.
The CR1 started out as SCOTT’s pro-level, race ready machine but then had a redesign to give it a more forgiving geometry and make it all day comfortable for everyday riders. It features a shock dampening system in the rear triangle to help soak up vibrations from the road. Together with the carbon fibre seatpost and taller front end this bike will really help you eat up the miles.
The groupset is Shimano 105 5800 meaning shifting is quick and precise. The 5800 version is when 105 first went to 11-speed. This catapulted it into the big leagues and meant that to this day 105 is still the sweet spot in terms of technology and price point.
The cassette features a 32 teeth lowest gear, which will really help when it comes to the hills. It makes pedaling easier so you can push a higher cadence to get to the top of the climb.
The tyres are Schwalbe Durano Plus, which is marketed as their most puncture proof tyre on the market.
I’ve just serviced the bike and decided to leave the factory bar tape on so the new owner can decide to keep it or not. If you’d prefer I can rewrap the bars in new gel performance BLACK or RED bar tape.
The gears have been indexed, the chain is a recent replacement and the brake pads have plenty of rubber left so this bike is ready to hit the road this weekend in total confidence.
In terms of condition the bike has some cosmetic scuffs to the shifters but the frame has very few marks. Rare with a matte finish!
