Here we have for sale a beautiful Trek ALPHA SL 1000 Road Racing Bike.
This was an award winning bike of its time which weighs just over 10kg
Trek is an iconic American bike brand established in 1976 which have been ridden to victory by many of the greatest names in cycling over the years & are beautifully designed & built.
This is in superb original condition & is mechanically perfect having just had a full (Gold) strip & service using top quality Mobil XHP 222 marine grease (worth £150 alone) by myself (an expert bike mechanic, see last picture) & has had new headset bearings fitted.
Equipment wise it comes with excellent Shimano Sora Flight Deck 16 speed STI shifters which work beautifully, high power Miche performance dual pivot brakes with Shimano Tiagra front & rear mechs (the shifting is superb) & a high quality Bontrager finishing kit (bars,seat,seatpost & stem) & good quality sealed bearing pedals which all adds up to a great package which is excellent value for money.
The bike has super light Alpha, custom butted, seamless drawn aluminium frame tubing, carbon fibre aero forks & high quality Alexrims AT450 wheels equipped with stainless steel spokes which run true & tight with brand new high quality Bontrager Select anti puncture fast rolling tyres fitted.
The frame size is 58cm Extra large which has traditional racing geometry giving outstanding agility. The bike rides beautifully & wants for nothing, you won’t be disappointed & will not find a better example rest assured.
The bike benefits from having a fully cleaned & degreased drivetrain which has been lubricated with market leading MucOff chain lube which prevents premature drivetrain wear & improves performance.
It has a 12-26 cassette & 53-39-175 Bontrager chain set which is geared for great climbing ability mixed amazing speed on the flats (if you have the legs of course).
Every bike which goes through my workshop is subject to a vigorous 10 mile road test to ensure perfect performance & reliability so you can buy with complete confidence.
I can supply & fit a set of reflectors & a bell for this bike at no extra cost if required (just ask).
