Reluctant sale of a lovely retro road bike. My collection is getting out of hand and it’s time to make some space. Of the two road bikes I own this is the nicest, but fits me less well, so I’ve decided to try to find it a new home.
Beautiful USA made bonded aluminium frame (rides like a quality lightweight steel frame), Shimano 105 drivetrain, Exage 500EX brakes. In VGC and riding beautifully – everything works nicely. Frame has some scratches but no nasty damage – could easily be touched in and tidied up.
I bought this not long ago locally as a “shed find”. I gave it a basic service to get it riding well. Work done included the following: Spoke replaced on rear wheel and wheel trued, new stainless inner brake cables, adjusted headset and gears, lubed various components as required. Chain and cassette were both checked and are little worn with many miles left, same with brake pads etc.
This is generally in very nice original condition for a 20 year old bike. Tyres are old, but usable and tubes hold air. Selle Italia Flite saddle is a little scruffy. Worthy of a bit more TLC as it’s a beauty, but ready to get on and ride.
Note that the pictured pedals are not included – but I will include something basic so you can get on the road right away.
Collection from South Devon encouraged. If that’s not practical I’m happy to pack safely and post with adequate insurance for the price quoted (£50).
Will be sad to see this go.
