An extra curve above the dropout in Trek’s swept-leg design creates a smaller angle to the direction of road vibrations. This angle increases fore/aft compliance, better positioning the fork leg to absorb road force rather than transmitting it straight to the rider. Much of Domane’s rock-solid stability comes from a race-tested 20% increase in fork offset over Madone, which keeps the rider settled on the bike and positions the wheel optimally for high-speed and rough-road stabilization. Two-time Paris-Roubaix champion Fabian Cancellara calls Domane “the most stable bike I’ve ever used on cobbled roads.”This bike is owned by a Cytech-qualified bicycle professional, and has recently had the following new components fitted: Chain, Cassette, Front Mech, Bar Tape, Brake Cables, Gear Cables and Inline Cable-Tension adjusters for the gears.This is an idea winter bike, or first road bike for someone who’s unsure about moving over to drop-bars.It’s got a large chip in the paint on the non-drive side of the top tube which you could probably touch up with some patience, if you wanted. There’s some corrosion near the top of the forks, under the paint. The rear mech is quite tired, and the shifting would be a lot better if it was replaced. I’m happy to do this at cost-price, if you want.
