Vintage BSA Javelin Racing Bike. Probably built in the 70’s by the Raleigh factory in NottinghamI have now re-taped the handlebars in vintage type cloth tape. See the last photo. It looks really good !21″ steel frame, so ideal for 6 footers.Good 27+1/4 amber wall tyres on Raleigh chrome wheels with alloy hubs. Front is q/r.Originally came with a cottered single 46 tooth chainwheel but I fitted a 40/52 cotterless dual chainwheel with Custom alloy cranks. I also fitted a front derailleur with a stem mounted friction shifter.Huret rear derailleur with 5 cogs (so 10 speed)Weinmann front and rear side pull brakes with Weinmann levers and Dia-compe touring levers.It has lovely quality MTE Japan alloy pedals with toeclips.Chrome front forks, chrome period bell, new (O/S) period Raleigh saddle. Stand fitted.Lovely original stainless steel mudguardsNew bottom bracket axle and bearings.New steering bearingsFront and rear wheel bearings cleaned and re-greasedNew chain just fittedNew inner cables throughout.Lovely ride and you don’t need Small Arms unless you come from Birmingham ! (Get it, B.S.A ?)In general, this is in lovely condition but I have touched in the paintwork in places and some chrome has a moderate amount of pitting, but looks good.Please note: the last photo shows a stainless steel pump.
