Super rare frame on this bike
After much research I have concluded this is an ex pro team bike from the Gerolsteiner team from 2004.
When I bought the frameset on lockdown I built it back using shimano parts that I had and others I bought. Originally built for my brother in law to ride. He rode it 3 times.
Headset bearings have been replaced and all serviced properly.
Ultegra front mech -new
105 rear mech and crankset 172.5cm cranks nearly new 53 /39 chain rings
11speed 105 shifters nearly new
New bottom bracket
New seat
New 11-28 sprocket set Shimano 105
Vision team 30 wheels (few years old)
23c 700tyres continental ultra sport all weather (nearly new)
Ritchie seat post and handlebars (nearly new)
Tiagra front and rear caliper brakes- pads are new
Giant stem 80mm
Ideal for 5’6” to 6” 2” cyclist
I have the original form but it had been cut down and damaged. It can be repaired by an expert but beyond my skills.
Has been recently serviced and runs really nicely. Great bike for club rides, touring, sprints, hill-climbs.
I have no need for this bike currently so happy to sell on so someone else can enjoy it.
I have lots of information on this bike, I have cherished it since lockdown began. It has had all my effort toil invested in it.
The bike is a real head turner and with this frame material scandium it’s an interesting bike. Scandium was supposed to be the new titanium but it didn’t take off.
It now needs a good home.
Will deliver to within 20 miles of Cambridge area for small fee.
