Raleigh Road Ace AX 1983 racing bike,timewarp iconic classic. Welcome to my auction for this beautiful Raleigh racing bicycle, one of the very last of a line of truly great pedigree bicycles from Raleighs lightweight division, in timewarp condition with all original Shimano 600 AX components incl. Delta AX brakes with Shimano 600 levers, 600 AX chainset with dynadrive 600 wafer aero pedals, 600 aero flow mounted shifters on downtube , 600 Ax stem.aero, Dura ace aero bars AX 600 gears, Mavic MA40 red label rims on Shimano 600 AX aero hubs, 600 AX sestpost aero, . 600 AX alloy headset. 531 competion frame and forks with prugnat long lugs , Gipiemme droputs. The bicycle is in good condition throughout, there are inevitably some marks commensurate with the age of the bicycle but it has spent the majority of its life inddors and this is clear in the shape it presents now. Really eyecatching beautiful bike and one of the finest examples of this increasingly sought after bicycle. The groupset is quite radical in its clear leanings toward aerodynamics and streamlining, like nothing seen in recent times. It rides very fast, whippet like uphill and very smooth solid handling. Meausuring the frame I have gone from centre of bottom bracket to centre of seatlug and seems to be approx 58cm, the centre to centre of top tube is approx 57cm. The frame number is in pic 8 and indicates the exact production series and date I believe. Overall its a beautiful bike preserved in its original form.
