Vintage retro 1980’s L’ Eroica Ribble 531 road racing bike – restored
High quality L’ Eroica ready Ribble road bike that features a light Reynolds 531 steel frame and forks – its been in storage for quite a while and isn’t getting used and therefore needs a new home.
The frames been recently powder coated and had new decals fitted, and its just been restored with new rims, tyres, cables and chain fitted. I’ve ridden it and it’s a good ride all round. According to Shimanos official timeline the Tricolour group was first made in 1987.
It’s used so has a few very minor scuffs on the paintwork and some components and some slight corrosion on some steel parts, but for a bike that’s 35 years old it’s low mileage – as you can see from the pictures it’s a good looking bike. There is a tiny dent in the top tube (hard to photograph as it’s so small) – see last picture. The seat post and stem move in the for height adjustment.
Frame / Fork: Reynolds 531 steel tubing
Transmission: Shimano 600 tricolour 16 speed components
Brakes: Shimano 600 tricolour with very rare non aero brake levers
Wheels: Shimano 600 hubs, Ritchey Vantage Comp rims, new 700 x 25c tyres
Finishing kit: Cinelli bar and stem, Ribble ITM seat post, Sella Selle Bassano saddle Shimano 600 pedals with toe clips and straps
Size: 63cm seatube (measured centre to top) and a 58cm top tube. The bike as pictured is set yup for me and I’m 6’ 2” – bike should fit a rider 6’ plus
Collection only: Little Chalfont, Bucks, or I can meet you at Chalfont and Latimer station (Metropolitan or Chiltern line).
